The Book of Acts provides us with the early steps of faith the disciples took to move forward with this amazing news about Jesus, the good news of the gospel. This fledgling group of witnesses was filled with the power of God the Holy Spirit to go out and proclaim the truth all over the Mediterranean world and beyond. His work led to explosive growth of the church through sharing the good news, convicting hearts, and healing the nations.
The Book of Acts is an encouragement to us all that God is working all the time, even when things look bleak.
Join us to pray together!
Connection Cards
We have Connection Cards available on the backs of the chairs in the sanctuary. Guests can fill them out and take them to the Info Center for a free gift. Anyone can use them to submit prayer requests, request more information about ministries, update personal contact information, ask a question, or give feedback. Cards can be dropped into the offering boxes at the entrances to the sanctuary.

What comes to mind when you think of heaven? Clouds? Harps? Angels? Singing?
Honestly, that doesn’t really sound like a great way to spend eternity. The good news is, that is NOT what heaven is like! Come and dig into the scriptures with us as we discover what our heavenly home will be like, what we’ll do there, what we’ll experience, and how we’re to prepare for eternity today.
Join us in adult Sunday School and find comfort, purpose and hope in the promise of eternity with Christ. Discover the amazing truth of what really awaits us on the “other side.”
October is Pastor Appreciation Month
We are blessed with pastors who love and serve well! We encourage you to let our pastors know what their ministry means to you. There is a basket at the Info Center if you’d like to drop off cards.
Recommended for Membership
The New Life elders are recommending James and Pamela Thoms for membership. In following our church constitution, their names will be posted here for two weeks and then they will be welcomed into membership. If you are wondering how membership works, you can read what our church constitution says about it here. The Next Steps Class is required for membership and we just started a series of classes Oct 5 - you are welcome to join in this Sunday (10/12)!
Opportunities to Serve in the Nursery
We could use a few more nursery volunteers who are able to serve once per quarter during Sunday School time and the 11:00 worship service. If you enjoy caring for and playing with infants and toddlers please let Janet know! You can send her an email (janets@newlifeefree.org), call the church office, or write “Nursery” on a Connection Card.
New Opportunity to Serve…
New Life Church will be launching a new ministry, a small group called Embrace Grace. This group provides emotional, practical, and spiritual support for single, young pregnant women who find themselves in an unexpected pregnancy.
The primary goal of Embrace Grace is to empower the church to be a safe and nonjudgmental place for these young women to run to when they find out they are pregnant. It’s a 12-week program that teaches them about God‘s love and grace, and at the end, we will give them a baby shower to honor them for choosing life and to help provide for their baby’s needs.
Would you prayerfully consider coming along side us as we launch this ministry and serve weekly in the group meetings, or consider serving at the events that are a part of this program?
For more information on Embrace Grace ministries, please visit www.embracegrace.com. If you would like to learn more about how you can get involved, please contact Dawn Stee at 605-868-1445 who is heading up this group at our church.
Men’s Breakfast & Study
Tuesdays in October | 6:00-7:30am
“Our wives and children do not primarily need our money, or even our physical strength. They need us to model loving, Christlike, self-sacrificial leadership with our time, our guidance, and our very selves.”
It’s been said, “as the family goes, so goes the church, and so goes the nation and so goes the world.” That’s why we can never underestimate the importance that a Godly leader in the home makes. Men, our upcoming men’s breakfast and bible Study, “How to Lead Your Family” will help us to pick up our mantle and with likeminded brothers, learn to become the godly men who imitate Jesus as prophets, priests, and kings serving our families.
Join us as together we embark on a study of biblical family leadership that equips us and points us to Christ and the gospel.
We will be having a time for baptisms during both worship services on Sunday, October 26. If you or your child/teen would like to be baptized -or- if you would like to learn more about baptism, call the church office (605-886-1977) or send an email to Lezlie (lezliee@newlifeefree.org).
Families from our whole community are welcome to come!
New Life families and life groups… We would love to have you volunteer or decorate Your trunk and hand out treats.
Please use a Harvest/Fall theme to decorate, include a bible verse or saying, and provide treats or trinkets for the children. We plan on about 400 children (last time we served just under 500 walking tacos). If you are planning on handing out treats... please be set up and ready by 4:45.
We could also use volunteers to direct traffic and guide our guests to parking spots.
There is a button below that will take you to a volunteer form or you can contact the church office for more information - janets@newlifeefree.org or 886-1977.
What book of the Bible would you go to for the clearest explanation of how sinful people can be in the right relationship with a Holy God? Time after time I can only think of one book… Romans.
The Book of Romans, maybe more so than any other New Testament Book, shines a bright light on the transformative power of the gospel of Jesus Christ, from a man who himself was powerfully changed by Christ. We are going to start the year going chapter by chapter, verse by verse, through this amazing text given to us by God.
Also, throughout the study, we will be taking short detours to talk about some topics that all of us will face in our lifetime. Paul brings many of these topics up, as they were certainly happening in the church at Rome. Some of the topics include suffering, disagreements, knowing God’s will for your life, and pursuing holiness.
We are excited for what God will do with our time together in His Word, we pray you will join us!
Please call the church office or send an email to Pastor Billy if you have any questions - 605.886.1977 or billye@newlifeefree.org
Are you able to provide a meal?
We like to start each young adult evening with a meal. It's a good time for them to come together and have some fellowship time prior to teaching and discussion. Meals can be dropped off at the church kitchen during the day on Tuesdays or you and your life group can serve the meal starting at 6:30pm.
We need to have enough for 75-80 (young adults and leaders). If you have questions about the amount or any other questions please contact Pastor Billy - billye@newlifeefree.org
Awana is our midweek program for kids age 3 (by Sept. 1) through 4th grade. Kids have a chance to learn truths from God’s word during large group lesson time and small group book time! Club 56 is our midweek program for 5th & 6th graders. With worship, large group time, and small group discussion, Club 56 is like an intermediate age youth group!
Listening Visits
Pastor Chris and Rhonda are setting up times to meet with those in our church family for “listening visits.” In addition to helping them get to know the New Life family, these visits will help Pastor Chris as he works with the Transition Team to find the man God has for us for our next Senior Pastor. If you would like to set up a time to meet, you can call the church office (886-1977) or send an email to Lezlie.
Do you have extra Bibles at home?
A member of our community is collecting Bibles to send overseas. If you have used Bibles that you would like to donate, you can place them in the box near the office door.
Each month, we highlight a missionary or organization that is supported by New Life. We encourage you to be praying for them and also learning more about how God is working through them in their area of ministry.
Youth Group is meeting on Wednesdays again!
Youth Group is for students in 7th-12th grade.
We meet at 6:30pm on Wednesday evenings at the Life House.
Send an email to Pastor Billy if you would like to be added to his text reminder group: billye@newlifeefree.org
