Adult Sunday School Class

10:00am in the Fellowship Hall

Church History, it's not about names, dates and facts. It's about the flesh and blood people of God, those who are members of our spiritual "family tree." It's a fascinating journey, telling the story of how God has preserved His church from the time the Apostles handed off the baton at the close of Acts 28 to the present.

Come with us as we travel through time and discover how, through the ups and downs, and the challenges and triumphs of life, Christ's Church has prevailed and overcome through the blood of the lamb and the word of their testimonies.

This will be a fun and informative study, one that raises our vision of God and teaches us what faithfulness to God really looks like. Join us on Sunday mornings and get introduced to some of the family members you didn't know you had!

Join us to pray for our church, our communities, our state, and our nation.

We have an Interim Pastor coming soon!

We are excited to announce that Chris and Rhonda Johnson will be coming November 1 to serve with us and to help New Life navigate the process of finding a permanent Senior Pastor. We’ll share more about them soon, but right now we need to find furnishings for a rented two-bedroom townhome for them to live in.

We had good response from our request last week - thank you!

Here are a few more specific items we are still looking for…

  • Coffee table

  • TV stand

  • 2 or 3 counter height bar stools/chairs

  • blankets for the queen size bed in the master as well as for the pull out guest bed

  • decorative throw blanket(s)

  • hangers

  • toaster

  • crock pot

  • mixing bowls

  • baking pan

  • cookie sheets

  • pot holders

  • cutting board

  • colander

  • 1 set of bath towels

  • mop and bucket

  • iron and ironing board

We would like the items to be in good condition, but they certainly don’t need to be new. If you have any of these things that you would like to donate or just let them use for the next year (approximately) please let Amy Anderton know. You can call her or send a text with a photo of the item(s): 507-848-7113.

October is Pastor Appreciation Month

We are blessed to have Pastor Glenn and Pastor Billy faithfully serving our church family! If you would like to write a note of encouragement or give a gift, we have a basket at the Info Center for cards. You can also drop them off at the church office during the week.

Do you have extra Bibles at home?

A member of our community is collecting Bibles to send overseas. If you have used Bibles that you would like to donate, you can place them in the box near the office door.

GracePoint here in Watertown is a collection site for Operation Christmas Child this year. They could use some volunteers to help receive boxes during OCC National Collection Week. Operation Christmas Child is a division of Samaritan’s Purse.  Volunteers would be available to do different tasks: greeting people, praying over boxes with their senders and packing the boxes in cartons.

Hours they are open:

  • Monday, Nov 18, Noon- 6pm (can work 12-3 or 3-6 or the entire time)

  • Tuesday, Nov 19, 3-6pm

  • Wednesday, Nov 20, 10-1pm

  • Thursday, Nov 21, 3-6pm

  • Friday, Nov 22, 3-6pm

  • Saturday, Nov 23, 1-3pm

  • Sunday, Nov 24, Noon-4

  • Monday, Nov 25, 10-Noon

Anyone interested can call or text Debi Fritz (884-5083) or email dfritzwatertownocc@gmail.com

Upcoming Short-Term Missions Trips

Steve Austvold is leading an upcoming missions trip. Teams would be partnering with the EFCA Crisis Response program and working with other EFCA churches to serve communities that have been affected by natural disasters. The button below will give you more details. If you are interested in serving, let us know. We have a few people from New Life that are interested and may want to travel together.

Each month, we will be highlighting a missionary or organization that is supported by New Life. We encourage you to be praying for them and also learning more about how God is working through them in their area of ministry.

Update and Prayer Requests from the Stewards:

We are praising God that Derek got to go on a moose hunt with four other staff men, and they brought home 3 bulls and a cow. It was a refreshing time for Derek as he loves hunting, but also we are so grateful for the meat which will provide a significant amount for each of our 17 staff families!  We also appreciate your prayers for health and some quality family time to prepare for our baby boy coming in December. I am grateful that my foot is healing nicely and I am able to ease back into being on my feet more. As a ministry we are praising God for providing a donated Cessna Caravan which we have been praying and fundraising for for years. Pray for wisdom and accuracy as we prepare to add it into our operations.

As we head back into winter, those in the villages are always on our minds as the darkness and cold can bring seasonal depression and an increase in unhealthy coping habits. Pray for believers, pastors, and missionaries across Alaska to remain strengthened and rooted in truth, and that MARC would be effective in supporting them spiritually, emotionally, and physically.

We are so very grateful for your prayers!

Youth Group | 6:30pm on Wednesdays

This year’s study: Genesis 1-11

In the beginning, God. Some of the most profound and powerful words that have ever been written. We are going to be taking a deep dive into the first 11 chapters of the Book of Genesis. We are going to encounter so many amazing truths that have an impact on us today in our world. Where did everything come from? Why are we here? Why is the world the way it is? Is there hope?

We end each youth evening with snacks for the students. It’s a fun time to hang out and get to know each other. Parents and others in our church family have been great about baking or purchasing snacks for us - if you’d like to sign up to bring the snack one evening, you can use the button below.
