Worship Services - 9:00am* and 11:00am
*Beginning February 4, the first service will start at 8:30am.
Nursery care for children 0-2 is available during the 11:00 service.
Children’s Church for ages 3-5 is available during the sermon portion of the 11:00 service.
You might be tempted to think that the historical events (Jews being liberated from Egypt, the parting of the Red Sea, wandering in the wilderness, giving of the Ten Commandments, God dwelling with his people in the tabernacle) that took place in Exodus have nothing to say to those of us living in our day and time. Don’t give into that temptation! Every single page of Scripture, from Genesis to Revelation, is relevant for our everyday life! In the book of Exodus we will explore themes like: the fiery holiness of God, where we can find true freedom, deliverance from sin and slavery, the presence of God, the problem of idolatry, and most importantly we will see that Jesus is the greater Moses and he is the only One that gives us the freedom we desperately need. We are praying that this sermon series through the amazing book of Exodus deepens your knowledge, and your affection, for our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ!
Here are two short videos that give an overview of the Book of Exodus:
We have Exodus overview resources available on the tables as you enter the sanctuary. If you didn’t get one last Sunday, we invite you to take one this week.

Islam. You can hardly listen to a news report without hearing about Muslim involvement in world affairs. Animosity and hatred of the Jews, Religion of Peace, Jihad, Sharia, Great Satan, Little Satan, what does all of this mean and what is a Christian to make of it all?
In his book and video series, Seeking Allah, Finding Jesus, author and apologist Nabeel Qureshi takes viewers deep into apologetics and evangelism among Muslims through powerful storytelling and personal experience. He explores Muslim culture, the most common Muslim objections to Christianity, and the core doctrines upon which Islam stands or falls.
Qureshi, a Pakistani-American evangelical Christian apologist raised by a devout Ahmadi family, converted to Christianity from Ahmadiyya Islam as a university student following several years of debate with a Christian friend.
Join us as we spend 6 weeks learning more about Islam and more importantly, why Christianity is the only way to peace with God.
The Youth are hosting the annual February Night Out!
The dinner will be February 3rd from 6-7:30pm. Childcare by our youth will be provided. We want to be able to serve our church as you all have been so generous in supporting us all year long.
Secondarily, you will be supporting the youth who are going on the Summer Mission Trip. We will be going to Minneapolis with APEX missions of the EFCA, to stay with a church plant. We will be both learning and serving alongside the church plant as they serve their community. I am excited for this opportunity for students to see how a church plant operates and what it takes to start one.
Men’s Retreat 2024
Friday evening - Saturday morning, February 16-17
at New Life Church
We are all made to pursue pleasure; it’s one of those innate drives that our Creator wired into our DNA. Men in particular, often in white hot pursuit, chasing after that which they believe will “scratch the itch” and bring the most pleasure, find that they forfeit the very thing that will bring true and lasting satisfaction. Unfortunately while we are “running down the dream” we often neglect our calling to be the spiritual leaders our families and churches so desperately need.
Come discover what men like King David, Saul of Tarsus, Noah, Job, Jim Elliot and others throughout history have discovered about treasures and worthy pursuits of pleasure! Only after we have “tasted and seen that the Lord is good”, can we be the spiritual leaders God desires us to be.
$25 registration fee includes Friday dinner, Saturday breakfast, and a t-shirt (if you register by January 28).
New Women’s Bible Study
Tuesday mornings at 5:45am, Room 209
February 20 - April 9
What's the story behind all those feasts?
It's hard to know when you read about the Feast of Booths why exactly it matters for your life. What in the world is the Feast of Trumpets supposed to be teaching you? We’ll learn…
The significance of these feasts and why God wanted His people to celebrate
How each of them point to Jesus and His work in redemption
Why all of this matters for our lives today
You will discover that passages you once skimmed over are now rich and meaningful in your life today.
Contact Sherry if you’d like us to order a book for you: sherryd@newlifeefree.org
There is some homework to be done before the first study, so we’ll need to order the books early.
NEXT STEPS is an opportunity to learn more about New Life Church, the Evangelical Free Church of America, and our Statement of Faith. We’ll discuss…
The background of the EFCA and New Life Church
The 10 points in our statement of faith
How to get plugged into serving at New Life
How to take the next step on the Discipleship Pathway
This class is required for membership at New Life, but is also good for anyone wanting to learn more about the church.
We invite you to come to Room 209 between the worship services March 3-24!
Missions Trip Opportunity | Summer 2024
We are planning a mission trip to return to Dorie's Promise in Guatemala City. There are two weeks to choose from: June 15-21 or June 29-July 5. Trip highlights will include activities with the children at Dorie's Promise, opportunities to help local families, ability to gain a new firsthand perspective on life in Guatemala, and enjoying the beauty of Guatemala's people and natural resources! The cost of the trip would be $1375 plus airfare. If you are interested in more information about joining the trip, please contact Lorna at hoferl@yahoo.com or 881-6747.
THERE IS NO OTHER GOSPEL!
This year the youth will be studying two important letters that Paul wrote, Galatians and Ephesians. Both of these letters are foundational to understanding that we are saved by grace alone, through faith alone, and in Christ alone. Not only do they explain how we are made right with God, but both Books are so practical in teaching us how to live the Christian life, because we are now “in Christ”. You will be surprised at how clearly they speak into our culture today.
We end each youth evening with snacks for the students. It’s a fun time to hang out and get to know each other. Parents and others in our church family have been great about baking or purchasing snacks for us - if you’d like to sign up to bring the snack one evening, you can use the button below.
Each month, we will be highlighting a missionary or organization that is supported by New Life. We encourage you to be praying for them and also learning more about how God is working through them in their area of ministry.
Thank you for partnering with us! We serve at Tenwek Hospital in rural Kenya, where we lead a ministry called Mustard Seed House. Mustard Seed House provides accommodation and care to families that travel far from home for the medical needs of their children. We share the Gospel and the love of Christ with sick and suffering children from all across Kenya and even other countries in Africa.
Please pray for the ministry of Mustard Seed House - that those who are facing sickness would welcome Jesus into their hearts.
Please pray for God's provision - that we could build a larger Mustard Seed House to reach more people.
Please pray for our children - that the Lord would use this experience to shape their hearts for a life of Kingdom service.
We look forward to visiting you in September 2024!
