Missionaries in Everyday Life | The One Degree Rule
We will be talking about something very dear to the heart of God, evangelism. At the heart of the gospel story we see Jesus leaving behind the glory of heaven to rescue the lost sons and daughters of God. You and I have received this lavish grace from Jesus and now we have the amazing opportunity to share it with those who are living all around us! We will also be discussing this important sermon series in our Life Groups. Our prayer is that each person at New Life Church is so in love with Jesus that they can’t help but talk about him to others in their daily life.
Nursery care for children 0-2 is available all morning. Children’s Church is offered during the 11:00 service for kids age 3-5.
Plan to join us between the worship services on Sunday, September 12 for the annual Ministry Fair.
As we kick off a new ministry year, you’ll be able to visit with ministry leaders about how to get involved and ways you can serve. Grab a soft pretzel and some root beer and learn more about what is going on in Children’s Ministry, Youth Ministry, Family Ministry, Life Groups, D-Groups, Adult Sunday School, and more!
We encourage you to fill out the online Friendship Register when you worship with us online or in person. You can share prayer requests, ask questions about our ministries, or just let us know that you’d like someone to contact you.
Upcoming Prayer Opportunities
Sunday, September 12 | Concert of Prayer is leaving the building again!
This summer and fall we will be taking some of our Concerts of Prayer into the counties around us. If you have trouble finding the farm you can give Ron and Dana a call at 605-237-3007.
New Podcast Episode from Pastor Michael: Interview with Pastor Tim LaFleur. Discussing the spiritual revival that has taken place at Long Hollow Church.
“I have been keeping my eye on Long Hollow Church for some time now. We (staff and elders at New Life Church) have taken some cues from Long Hollow and implemented a Discipleship Pathway. The Discipleship Pathway is a simple process throughout the church that equips people to become mature disciple makers of Jesus Christ. So I am learning from Long Hollow. We have also been implementing D Groups. D Groups are geared to equip Christians to live as disciple makers.
Then I started to hear about a powerful work of the Holy Spirit at Long Hollow. Hundreds of people being saved and baptized. So enough was enough. I recorded an “interview” with one of the pastors on staff at Long Hollow, Tim LaFleur. I strongly believe this will inspire you, encourage you, and lead you and your church to pray like you have never prayed before.!”
Sunday School Classes for all ages start September 19
We’ll have classes for everyone age 3 - adult and nursery care for infants and toddlers. Classes will be held between the two worship services: 10:15-11:00am. Please plan to stick around if you attend the first service or come early if you attend the second service!
Deeper in Relationships
From June 2021 to August 2022 we will go deeper in relationships with people outside and inside the church body to intentionally share the grace and love of Jesus Christ with them and to grow together as his disciples.
The Gospels are full of stories of Jesus intentionally engaging those inside and outside the family of God. We want to know and obey the words of Jesus and we also want to emulate his lifestyle. We will be a people who are willing to get out of our comfort zone and make building relationships a higher priority in our everyday lives. We know that in our post-Christian culture it is a poor strategy to sit back and wait for people to attend our worship services. We challenge every person at New Life to meet, talk to, get to know, and go deeper with at least 1 person within our church family and 1 person outside our church family each month!
In the coming months you can anticipate sermons about reaching out to others with the love of Christ, evangelism training taking place in Life Groups, continued times of prayer, and an overall focus on building relationships with people in the six counties all around us.
Wednesday Gatherings for Kids & Youth are up and running for the school year. It’s never too late to join us!!!

Women’s Bible Study - please join us!
Tuesdays | 5:45am | beginning Oct 5 | At New Life
"Now there arose a new king over Egypt, who did not know Joseph" -Exodus 1:8
With that introduction, we enter into the story of the Hebrew people in the Book of Exodus. No longer under the protection of their forefather Joseph, the children of Israel became slaves to the Egyptians. But God was raising up a deliverer in Moses, to lead His people from bondage to freedom so they could worship Him.
The exodus of the Israelites shapes our understanding of the whole Bible, its themes reverberating all the way to Revelation. Exodus is the birth narrative of a nation unmistakably guided by the Great Deliverer.
In this 10-session verse-by-verse study of Exodus 1–18, Jen Wilkin shows us that Israel’s story is our story: the same God who delivered Israel also delivers all those He loves from slavery to sin and from service to the pharaohs of this world. He lifts our eyes to the promised land He has prepared where we dwell with I AM and worship Him as the one true God.
