We’re taking a break from our Psalms sermon series this week to think about…
The Reality of Hell
Football players will use smelling salt before a game to clear their mind and to help them focus. Biblical teaching about the reality of hell has the power to put worldly amusements in their proper place and help us to focus on what is important in life. We hope you will join us this Sunday as we take a hard look at what Jesus had to say about hell with the result that we will use the one life that we have been given for his glory.
Our nursery is open!
We’ve made plans for additional safety and cleaning procedures and we are looking forward to welcoming children age 0-2 into our nursery area during both services and our Sunday School hour.
We encourage you to fill out the online Friendship Register when you worship with us online or in person. You can share prayer requests, ask questions about our ministries, or just let us know that you’d like someone to contact you.
Deeply Rooted in God’s Word Together
From June 1, 2020 to May 31, 2021 we will be focused on intentionally setting aside time to read God’s Word. We have some tools for you as well as ways to let us know what you've been reading so we can track our progress as a church family. We'd like read 52,000 chapters this year!
You can pick up reading plan cards in the foyer. We also have a basket for completed cards. If you’ve been letting us know how many chapters you’re reading through our online form, we don’t need the cards back - we don’t want to count the chapters twice. But if you haven’t told us yet, we really want to record your numbers so we can reach our goal of 52,000!
You can track any chapters that you read. If you aren’t sure where to start, we have resources to help on our website.
Women’s Weekly Zoom Meeting
A group of women will be having a weekly Zoom meeting on Monday evenings (7:30-8:30pm) to discuss the Bible Reading on the plan. If you’d like to join in you can contact Dawn S. (dawnmstee@gmail.com) or Dana N. (dananiemann@gmail.com) to get the Zoom invite.
Thank you for your donations to “Share the Blessings.” We were able to purchase more than 60 grocery gift cards. The next step is to distribute them to those in our community that have needs. If you have a neighbor, friend, or co-worker that would be blessed by some extra help this Thanksgiving, please stop by the Info Center after one of the worship services to talk with Mike Florey and pick up a card.
Operation Christmas Child
The packaging party was a huge success with us being able to fill about 50 boxes with items donated from the church community!! We are asking for help paying for the shipping of these 50 boxes. Shipping cost are $9/box. If you are able to assist with shipping stop by the Operation Christmas Child table in the foyer on Sunday.
Also, this Sunday will be the last day to drop off any filled boxes. We currently have about 90 boxes (between the packing party and donated through the church family). All boxes will be dropped off at Cornerstone Church this coming week and then processed and shipped to children around the world.
Thank you for helping us the Operation Christmas Child Ministry.
Please join us to worship and pray with other Watertown churches on Sunday evening.
We are working on updating our church photo directory.
Click here to fill out a form with your current contact information. Or you can give us call at the church office (886-1977) and we can go through your information on the phone.
You can send a new family photo to: sherryd@newlifeefree.org. You are also welcome to stop by the church office with a printed photo and we can scan it and give it right back to you. We are not picky about the photos - snapshots or even selfies are fine!
Missions Prayer Focus
Channel to Brazil for Christ (CBC), Marcondes and Ruth Marques
Praise God that we are all well and staying busy with projects and installing solar panels in the classroom for more efficient energy use.
Praise God that we are able to see a few students at a time in person for the first time and that we are able to continue with online visits.
Prayer is needed for our getting ready to hand out our learning projects for this next semester.
Please pray for our sharing the gospel with the parents of our students that they will see the truth for their salvation.
We need prayer for our government has pulled extra support for the families. We are getting ready for a big campaign in November and December to distribute food Parcels again. This will cost $40 per family and we have 260 families to serve. Please pray that this will go well.
New Life Youth
Large group night this week (11/18), 6:45-8:15pm. Everyone meets at the church!
Want to help feed our youth???
It’s no surprise that teens like food! We are looking for some folks who would be willing to bring a snack for them on Wednesdays at the end of youth group. You could bake or buy the snack and it could be dropped off during the day at the church. We would welcome help from parents, grandparents, or anyone who has a heart to help us create a fun environment for our students to grow closer to Christ. Contact Jen Dingsor (605.881.9152) or Heather Hight (605.212.8093) if you are willing to be on our snack schedule - even just once would be appreciated!
