Three Marks of Christian Maturity
Billy Evans will be sharing this Sunday at both of our worship services. The New Life Elders are recommending that we add Billy to our staff to serve as our Associate Pastor of Youth and Family Ministry.
Keep reading to find out more about the Evans family and about more opportunities to get to know them this weekend.
New Sermon Series begins Jan. 24
Daniel may just be one of the most relevant books of the bible that we can read today. America is experiencing a post-Christian culture which means we have much to learn from a man like Daniel who lived in the Babylonian Empire. How do we live as followers of Jesus Christ as exiles who are longing for their true homeland? Other themes in this fascinating book include the end times and the Second Coming of Jesus.
"And behold, with the clouds of heaven there came one like a son of man, and he came to the Ancient of Days and was presented before him. And to him was given dominion and glory and a kingdom." (Daniel 7:13-14 ESV).
Join us Sunday, January 24th as we dig into this fascinating book!

A Note from Billy…
Hello from Maryland! Becky and I have been married for 10 years and have three wonderful kids, Kenzie (7), Micah (5), and Tessa (3). We have lived in the Baltimore area the past 8 years serving in our local church and community. I am currently a public-school teacher in Baltimore County and spend most of my days with middle school students running a college preparatory program (AVID). Becky has the toughest job on earth by staying at home with our kids and homeschooling them. She also works on the side as a licensed massage therapist. Kenzie, Micah, and Tessa all enjoy spending time outside going on hikes, playing sports, and creating their own games.
Prior to coming to Maryland, I grew up in Upstate New York near Watertown and Becky grew up outside of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Becky and I met in college, where we both played on the basketball teams, and have been together ever since. We both love sports, reading, coffee, and eating. Becky is an amazing cook/baker who has a heart for mom’s and families. I have always been involved in youth (sports, church, coaching etc.) and am passionate about helping families grow together in Christ. We are all very excited for this opportunity to meet New Life Church and visit South Dakota!
Deeply Rooted in God’s Word Together
From June 1, 2020 to May 31, 2021 we will be focused on intentionally setting aside time to read God’s Word. We have some tools for you as well as ways to let us know what you've been reading so we can track our progress as a church family. We'd like to read 52,000 chapters this year!
We have reading cards for December - January! You can pick up reading plan cards in the foyer. We also have a basket for completed cards. If you’ve been letting us know how many chapters you’re reading through our online form, we don’t need the cards back - we don’t want to count the chapters twice. But if you haven’t told us yet, we really want to record your numbers so we can reach our goal of 52,000!
You can track any chapters that you read. If you aren’t sure where to start, we have resources to help on our website.

Following the movie, Denise Shick will join us via Zoom for a Q & A session.
Childcare will be available. Please let us know how many children and the ages of children so we can be prepared. Register for childcare HERE or call 886-1977.
Recommended for Membership
The New Life elders are recommending Aaron Spies for membership. In following our church constitution, his name will be posted here for two weeks and then he will be welcomed into membership. If you are wondering how membership works, you can read what our church constitution says about it here. We typically hold two membership classes each year - in the fall and spring. We’ll announce the dates/times here in the digital bulletin when we schedule the classes.
New Women’s Bible Study
Tuesday mornings, 5:45am, beginning January 26
The opening lines and chapters of Genesis teach us fundamental truths about God. We watch Him bring light after darkness, order after chaos, and rest after toil—all through the power of His Word.
With teaching videos, we’ll dive into the first 11 chapters of Genesis by following three critical stages of understanding: comprehension, interpretation, and application. Revisit familiar stories and historical figures, challenge your basic knowledge, and discover deeper meanings in the text. As God reveals Himself through Scripture, we can only begin to understand ourselves when we first glimpse the character, attributes, and promises of our Creator.
