Daniel 1 | Part 1 - Introduction

Daniel may just be one of the most relevant books of the bible that we can read today. America is experiencing a post-Christian culture which means we have much to learn from a man like Daniel who lived in the Babylonian Empire. How do we live as followers of Jesus Christ as exiles who are longing for their true homeland? Other themes in this fascinating book include the end times and the Second Coming of Jesus.

"And behold, with the clouds of heaven there came one like a son of man, and he came to the Ancient of Days and was presented before him. And to him was given dominion and glory and a kingdom." (Daniel 7:13-14 ESV).

Join us as we dig into this fascinating book!

Our nursery is open!

We’ve made plans for additional safety and cleaning procedures and we look forward to welcoming children age 0-2 into our nursery area during both services and our Sunday School hour.

SERVICE TIMES.jpg

Sunday School classes for all ages meet at 10:00am.

Please join us!

We encourage you to fill out the online Friendship Register when you worship with us online or in person. You can share prayer requests, ask questions about our ministries, or just let us know that you’d like someone to contact you.

Members, Remember to Vote…

The elders are recommending that we add Billy Evans to our staff as Associate Pastor of Youth and Family. The Evans family was with us last weekend. We were able to hear from him on Sunday morning and interact with the family throughout the weekend.

The next step in this process is for New Life members to vote to confirm the recommendation from the elders. Please stop by the voting table Sunday morning (1/24) before/during/between worship services. If you aren’t able to vote in person, you are welcome to call the church office (886-1977) or send an email to Lezlie (lezliee@newlifeefree.org). We’ll keep the voting open until Tuesday, January 26. All votes will be kept confidential.

Deeply Rooted in God’s Word Together

From June 1, 2020 to May 31, 2021 we will be focused on intentionally setting aside time to read God’s Word. We have some tools for you as well as ways to let us know what you've been reading so we can track our progress as a church family. We'd like to read 52,000 chapters this year!

We have reading cards for December - January! You can pick up reading plan cards in the foyer. We also have a basket for completed cards. If you’ve been letting us know how many chapters you’re reading through our online form, we don’t need the cards back - we don’t want to count the chapters twice. But if you haven’t told us yet, we really want to record your numbers so we can reach our goal of 52,000!

You can track any chapters that you read. If you aren’t sure where to start, we have resources to help on our website.

Women’s Weekly Zoom Meeting

A group of women will be having a weekly Zoom meeting on Monday evenings (7:30-8:30pm) to discuss the Bible Reading on the plan. If you’d like to join in you can contact Dawn S. (dawnmstee@gmail.com) or Dana N. (dana.niemann@yahoo.com) to get the Zoom invite.

The movie that we watched Friday evening at the Care Ministry Movie Event is available online here: https://inhisimage.movie/.

It does a great job of bringing a biblical perspective to gender and sexuality issues that we face in our culture today. If you were not able to join us, you may want to take some time to watch it at home.

New Women’s Bible Study

Tuesday mornings, 5:45am, beginning January 26

The opening lines and chapters of Genesis teach us fundamental truths about God. We watch Him bring light after darkness, order after chaos, and rest after toil—all through the power of His Word.

With teaching videos, we’ll dive into the first 11 chapters of Genesis by following three critical stages of understanding: comprehension, interpretation, and application. Revisit familiar stories and historical figures, challenge your basic knowledge, and discover deeper meanings in the text. As God reveals Himself through Scripture, we can only begin to understand ourselves when we first glimpse the character, attributes, and promises of our Creator.

Celebrate Recovery Training

Training for Celebrate Recovery will begin on Thursday, Feb 4th, 6:30pm, at Midwest Bible Camp. If you are interested in helping with this Christ-centered ministry please let pastor Michael know via email - michaelw@newlifeefree.org. If you would like to learn a bit more about Celebrate Recovery you can go HERE.
